What is involved in a webcast? back...
  • Production: The production involves capturing and transmitting the event to our servers. The most basic capturing uses just a phone to capture the audio of a presenter. However usually capturing involves using our software on a desktop (or laptop) computer. Headsets and an optional video camera or video feed from multiple cameras is tuned into the computer. Through a simple broadband Internet connection (DSL, Cable, T1, etc.) you transmit the webcast to our servers from where it is being delivered to the attendees.
  • Live (onsite) conferences: A live (onsite) conference may be broadcasted in real-time or archived or both. You-niversity is well equipped to come to your event and provide you with an end-to-end solution, including videotaping or audiotaping the event, synchronizing the slides and broadcasting it over the Internet. Alternatively, we can work with your existing A/V vendor, or we can teach you how to self-produce your event.
  • Remote seminars: Remote seminars mean webcasting from anywhere to everywhere. Your faculty will lecture from their office space (or from your offices) to a national or an international audience. The faculty has a choice of lecturing using their phone or their computer. Attendees view the slideshow on their computers while they also have a choice of listening using their phone or their computer.
  • Real-time or canned webcasts: Real-time webcasts are similar to live sporting events. They are captured and delivered in real-time. We provide you with the software and optional production teams. We also provide you with the servers to serve the Internet audience. Canned webcasts may be either captured using our software or reproduced from your existing tapes. In both modes of delivery, PowerPoint presentations, PDF files, flash objects, video clips, hyperlinks, animations and other type of materials can be incorporated.
  • Management and execution: We will provide you with your own branded and customized web conference center to run and manage your webcasts. By placing a simple link on your website to the conference center, you’ll direct your audience to the webcast programs. Publicize information about your upcoming programs, collect registrations, e-mail reminders, grant free or passcode-protected access, organize the library of your archived programs, produce reports, download reports into Excel spreadsheets and manage the look and feel of your conference center – all easily done and requiring no software programming skills.
  • Your production: We will provide you with the software and server bandwidth for you to produce your webcasts. Install our software on a computer (desktop or laptop) at your location and connect to our servers. You will use that computer to initiate and produce the webcast. We will support you silently behind the scenes. We can provide you with an end users’ toll-free and e-mail-based help line; training of your staff on webcast –production; an on-call technician during live programs; encoding, editing and post-production services; and any customized service needed to make your webcasting operation a 100% satisfactory experience.
  • Our production: Our experienced production teams provide you with an end-to-end webcast solution. We will come to your site (or to a conference center) and bring all the required equipment and crewmembers needed to produce your webcast. We will advise you on the various options and then take care of the execution based on your choices. All you’ll need to provide us with are the details of the venue and coordinate our team’s arrival.
  • Co-production: We can remotely produce your webcast while you take responsibility for the on-site activities. Using phone lines (or other means), we can remotely produce your webcast. This scenario will typically be chosen by organizations that would like to concentrate on the content of the production while outsourcing the actual IT and A/V work to us.
